AGS Seminar on Geotechnics of Soft Soils held on 14 November

Australia Geomechanics Society held a seminar on Geotechnics of Soft Soils at Perth Convention Centre on 14 November. GFWA who has been a constant sponsor of engineering events such as the annual GFWA Prize for final year undergraduate projects in Geomechanics and AGS seminars also sponsored AGS’ event this year. Furthermore, GFWA general manager, Tim Palmer, and marketing manager, Babak Hamidi, respectively presented “Elizabeth Quay Inlet Wall Project” and “The Application of a Combination of PVD & Stone Columns for the Treatment of Oil Tank Foundations“. Tim discussed the design and construction of diaphragm walls at Elizabeth Quay, and Babak presented the ground improvement works that were under taken by companies of Soletanche Freyssinet Group at the second phase of Chiriqui Grande Oil Terminal in Panama.
