Babak Hamidi explains why Relative Density is an unreliable quality control measure

Babak Hamidi, GFWA marketing manager and representataive of Australia at ISSMGE TC211 (Ground Improvement Technical Committee) was this month’s Australian Geomechanics Society speaker at Engineers Australia in Perth. In his 45 minute presentation titled “Invalidity of Relative Density for Quality Control of Cohesionless Soils” Babak explained why neither relative density concept nor relative density correlations can be used as reliable quality control measures.
