National Workshop on Transport & Energy held on 19 November

The National Workshop on Transport and Energy was held in Wollongong’s Novetel Hotel on 19 November, and provided an opportunity for project owners, consultants and contractors to exchange their knowledge and views. Inaugration speakers at the workshop were Ann Sudmalis, federal member of the Australian parliament for Gilmore, Stewart Mills, director for maintenance of Sydney Trains, and Vicki Brown from the Australisian Centre for Rail Innovation. While most speakers were from NSW academia or industry, Professor Kerry Rowe had travelled all the way from Queens University in Canada to present his research on embankment stability. Babak Hamidi, GFWA’s marketing manager, was invited by the Workshop’s organising committee to lead the panel composed of industry experts.
