Perth’s engineers visit Lloyd Street Underpass Project

In coordination with McConnell Dowell who is the main contractor of Lloyd Street Rail Corridor Grade Separation project, GFWA invited AGS members to visit the project, and observe the process of diaphragm wall construction for themselves. After sigining in and completing the visitors’ induction, McConnell Dowell’s project manager, John Ransom, made an introductory presentation of the project, which was followed by a description of the diaphragm wall construction works by GFWA operations manager, Tom Sanders. Due to the large number of participants who were approximately 50 engineers mostly from consulting companies and contracting firms, the visitors were divided into two groups led by Tom Sanders, and GFWA’s site manager, Phil Rankins, who showed and described the various activities that must be performed for constructing the walls.
