The Scarborough Beach Road Cycle Bridge project in Perth aims to improve cycling safety and connectivity by constructing a dedicated cycle bridge over Scarborough Beach Road near Mitchell Freeway. This project will link Glendalough Station with the wider cycling network, providing a safe, traffic-free crossing for cyclists. Designed with gentle gradients, lighting, and safety barriers, the bridge promotes healthier, eco-friendly transportation, enhancing accessibility to key destinations and encouraging more people to cycle.
Scope of Works
For the Scarborough Beach Road Cycle Bridge project, GFWA’s scope of work involved the supply and installation of 300mm diameter micropiles. This project required the installation of a total of 20 micropiles, each with a depth of 21 meters, resulting in a cumulative bored length of 420 meters. The use of micropiles was critical for providing the necessary foundation support for the cycle bridge, especially in the constrained and challenging site conditions. GFWA’s expertise ensured the successful completion of these deep foundation elements, contributing to the structural integrity and longevity of the cycle bridge.
