Diaphragm Wall
GFWA: Diaphragm wall pioneers in Australia. Completed projects throughout Australia.
Diaphragm Walls provide high quality, cost effective permanent ground retaining systems. These walls are excavated under slurry using grabs or reverse circulation twin cutter-wheeled hydrofraise excavation machines.
Our processes
Diaphragm walls are built in panels composed of three bites of the excavation tool. Panels usually have rectangular cross sections, but can also be L-shaped, T-shaped or have other shapes as combinations of the bites.
The most common application of diaphragm walls is the construction of straight walls, but they can also be used to construct curved walls, which are composed of multiple straight panels that are aligned in such a way to form curved shapes. Diaphragm walls have been used to build deep circular shafts without anchoring or strutting systems.
